Colibri’s Quasar line is getting a cutter that can fit in your pocket, though that’s hardly the most notable feature.

The new Colibri Quasar Cut ($59) features the hobnail pattern originally found on the vintage 1960s Colibri Moletric lighter that has inspired the Quasar line of humidor, ashtrays and a tabletop cutter. Though, that’s also not the most notable feature.

It would be the blades, which the company describes as an “open-surface” design. In short, the company hollowed out the metal sides that include each blade, leaving just the base and then the blade itself. The theory is that it means that only the blade goes through the cigar. In the picture above, the blade on top swings left when the cutter opens, while the blade on the bottom moves to the right.

It’s offered in eight colors: matte black, matte silver, matte charcoal, matte red, blue, neon green, black/polished chrome and black/polished rose. The Quasar Cut will be shown off at next month’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show and ship in October.
