The next time you attend a Cohiba event at your local tobacconist, you might see a new cigar being offered: the Cohiba Silencio.

The cigar is being added as an event-only release, and will be primarily at events where Sean Williams is present. Williams, formerly of El Primer Mundo, joined General Cigar Co. in May 2017 as the Cohiba brand ambassador.

As for the cigar, it is a 6 x 50 toro with a Nicaraguan wrapper, Cameroon binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Silencio was blended in part by Williams, who calls it “my signature Cohiba offering.  “The blend is a balance of key components from the Cohiba Red Dot profile and staples from my profile over the years,” Williams told halfwheel.

It is being offered in 10-count boxes and is made at the STG Estelí factory. There is no MSRP for the cigar as it is only available with purchase of other products in the Cohiba portfolio. Williams told halfwheel that it is “limited, but not limited edition” when asked about how many are being produced.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
