CIGARfest 2021 is canceled.

Cigars International, the world’s largest cigar retailer, has canceled the event due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. The event typically takes place in the spring, but this year’s event was scheduled for Oct. 15-16 in Split Rock, Pa.

The company says that ticket holders will be given a full refund through Eventbrite, while those who paid for their tickets in cash will be contacted by Cigars International.

“We found ourselves once again faced with a difficult decision relative to CIGARfest,” said Sarah Santos, president of Cigars International said, in a press release. “Given that the CDC recommends wearing masks indoors in high transmission areas, which is impractical for a cigar event, we unfortunately saw no other option than to cancel CIGARfest this year.”

This is the second year in a row the event has been canceled due the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

CIGARfest is believed to be the world’s largest cigar event. Each day, 3,000 ticketholders enter the CIGARfest floor where they pick up their included cigars, have the opportunity to purchase more cigars, enjoy food and beverage options, listen to live music, participate in raffles, and meet various cigarmakers. Furthermore, thousands more cigar smokers can be found in the parking lots and around the resort as many choose to tailgate the event.
