This past weekend, Casa de Montecristo Dallas held its grand opening party. While the store has been open for over a month, the grand opening featured a variety of events and an exclusive cigar: the Montecristo Dallas Series.

The 6 x 50 belicoso uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It is limited to 1,000 numbered boxes of 10 cigars. Suggested retail pricing is $17 per cigar, though it is currently selling for $79.99 per box as part of an opening special.

Casa de Montecristo Dallas marks the first new, ground-up store launched by Tabacalera USA, the Imperial Tobacco division that also operates Altadis U.S.A and JR Cigar. While there were existing stores using the Casa de Montecristo name, including those in Chicago and Boynton Beach, Fla., and new locations in Las Vegas and Miami; those stores are all franchises not owned by Tabacalera USA/Imperial Tobacco.

The company owns stores in New York City that use the name Casa de Montecristo by Cigar Inn as well as JR Cigar retail stores in Detroit, New Jersey, North Carolina and Washington D.C.
