Casa Cuevas Cigars are now available in the United Kingdom, as the company has added New World of Cigars Ltd. as its first retailer in Europe.

“We are excited to partner with Pete Wareham and New World of Cigars,” said Luis Cuevas Jr., president of Casa Cuevas. “We look forward to working closely with them to introduce the Casa Cuevas brand to the European market,” he added via a press release.

New World of Cigars focuses on offering cigar smokers in the U.K. an extensive range of boutique and international “new world” cigars, essentially those not produced in Cuba. Via a press release, the retailer says it was founded on ethics, community and value, and aims to increase the range of new world cigars available to the U.K. market, while returning some of its revenue back to cigar producing nations through charities that provide educational opportunities for children.

“During my travels to the U.S. I smoked my first Casa Cuevas cigar,” Wareham said. “I was hugely impressed with the blend, construction, and knew that the Casa Cuevas brand would be warmly received by the European market.” He added that the retailer values both great cigars and the people behind the brand, and cited the pride that the Cuevas family takes in upholding the values of their five-generation cigar history.

The retailer currently carries the Casa Cuevas Reserva Natural, Reserva Maduro, and La Mandarria lines.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
