There’s a quartet of new cigars from Casa 1910 heading to stores this week.

Three of them are under the company’s new Cavalry Edition moniker, which pays tribute to the horses and the people that rode them in the Mexican Revolution. Unlike the company’s debut release, these cigars are neither made in Mexico nor are made up of only Mexican tobaccos.

All three cigars are different blends though the Casa 1910 As de Oro and Lucero are quite similar on paper. The As de Oro is a 6 x 54 toro extra, while the Lucero is a 6 x 54 torpedo extra. Furthermore, the As de Oro uses seven tobaccos, while the Lucero uses six.

As for those tobaccos, they include an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers from Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe in Nicaragua.

  • Casa 1910 As de Oro (6 x 54) — $16.89 (Box of 10, $168.90)
  • Casa 1910 Lucero (6 x 54) — $17.49 (Box of 10, $174.90)

There’s also the Casa 1910 Jilguero, a 6 x 60 gordo, which has an MSRP of $17.89. It uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a binder from Estelí, Nicaragua and fillers from the Estelí and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua.

All three of those cigars are made at an undisclosed factory in Nicaragua.

Finally, there is the Casa 1910 Tierra Blanca, a 6 x 54 toro extra that is made entirely of Mexican San Andrés negro tobacco, highlighted by a five-year-old wrapper. It is made at an undisclosed factory in Mexico.

The MSRP for the Tierra Blanca is $16.49 per cigar and it is offered in boxes of 10 cigars.

It joins the debut Cuchillo Parado as part of Casa 1910’s “Revolution Edition” family, though the two blends are different.

Update: An earlier version of this post referred to the series as “Calvary,” it is in fact, “Cavalry.”
