Cameron “Cam” Heaps, a co-founder of Mombacho Cigars S.A., will be returning to the company in a formalized role as its president.

Heaps will takeover the president role from Claudio Sgroi, who will remains as both the company’s blender and a partner.

“It’s great to have Cam now heading operations, and what a perfect way to celebrate our 15th year anniversary,” said Sgroi in a press release. “Cam’s oversight has always been key in Mombacho’s business, but his deeper involvement will be crucial for taking Mombacho to the next level. As business partners and colleagues, we are excited for what the future holds for Mombacho.”

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Mombacho Cigars S.A., which makes cigars at its Casa Favilli factory in Granada, Nicaragua.

I am an editor and co-founder of Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
