The latest auction of rare and vintage cigars by C.Gars Ltd. is now online, highlighted by a mixture of Edición Limitadas, Edición Regionals, and mature cigars.

While the auction is light on humidor offerings, the two that are offered have gotten out to the early bid lead, with an H.Upmann 160th Anniversary humidor from 2004 and a partially-filled Romeo y Julieta Replica humidor from 2009 both sitting at £3,500, or $4,900.

The auction is heavily dominated by Cohiba offerings, as 32 of the 147 lots feature the marca. One of those lots, one of two boxes of Cohiba Sublimes from 2004, has gotten out to the top of the bid leaderboard, currently sitting at £2,800, just under $4,000. A box of Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva from 2009 is not far behind, with the latest bid at £2,550, just over $3,570.

On the more recent side, the auction features six boxes of Cohiba Majestuosos 1966, one of the cigars created for the marca’s 50th anniversary. Those lots are currently bidding between £900 and £1,020.

For fans of Edición Regional releases, the auction features two boxes of the Edmundo Dantes 109, which was created for Mexico and released in 2007. Other Edición Regionals of note in the auction include the La Escecpción Selectos Finos for Italy, the Ramón Allones Phoenicios,

Of note, there is just one Dunhill-branded lot—and no Davidoff lots—offered in this auction, and that one Dunhill lot is a half-full box of Tubos from 1986.

The auction runs through February 21, with all lots only available to bidders outside the United Kingdom. The house’s next auction will go live on March 20th.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
