Next week, Selected Tobacco S.A. will begin shipping the Byron 19th Century Epique Poemas Humidor, a new packaging option for the massive 7 x 54 cigar that has been previously sold in lacquered humidor boxes.

The humidors are made of hazelnut wood and are designed to stand upright with two doors that open up to reveal 20 cigars in the middle and five cigars in each door for a total of 30 cigars. However, the humidors are being sold with 80 cigars, the other 50 will come in a single refill box. The humidors come with a built-in hygrometer and humidifier.

In total, the package has an MSRP of $2,960 or $37 per cigar.

While you can buy the Byron 19th Century Epique Poemas outside of the humidor release, the cigars included as part of this package have been aged for four years after rolling. As for the blend, it uses an Ecuadorian wrapper and binder over a mixture of Nicaraguan and Peruvian tobaccos in the filler. The cigars are made at Tabacos de Costa Rica.

A total of 500 numbered humidors have been created, 200 will ship this year while the other 300 are scheduled to ship “before the spring of 2023.”

“Lord Byron gave the world poetry and I try to capture his passion with the Byron line,” said Nelson Alfonso, founder of Selected Tobacco S.A., in a press release. “I look for an emotional response not only in the packaging designs but more importantly in my cigars.”
