Habanos S.A. has announced its flagship Reserva release for 2020, a popular belicoso from Bolívar.

The Bolívar Belicosos Finos Reserva Cosecha 2016 will be the Reserva release for 2020. Like the regular Bolívar Belicosos Finos, the cigar measures 5 1/2 (140mm) x 52. As the name implies, the cigar will use tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region’s 2016 harvest, hence Cosecha 2016. It will be packaged in lacquered boxes of 20 and features the black and silver Reserva secondary band.

Each year Habanos S.A. releases either a Reserva or Gran Reserva. Historically, this cigar would be a regular production cigar from one of Habanos S.A.’s global brands, i.e. the most popular labels, including Cohiba, H. Upmann, Hoyo de Monterrey, Montecristo, Partagás and Romeo y Julieta. Bolívar is not that, part of the Portfolio category, more specifically Alto Valor along with Punch, Ramón Allones and Trinidad.

This marks the first time that a non-global brand has been selected for a Reserva or Gran Reserva. Habanos S.A. reclassified its brand structure last year.
