Blackbird Cigar Co. has announced that it will increase prices on its later this month.

The increases will take effect July 10 and the company says that the prices of its cigars will increase by an average of 2.25 percent. The July 10 date is also the first day of the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show. The company hopes to offset some of the price increases by offering retailers promotions during the trade show.

In a press release, Blackbird explained the reasons for the increase:

We are taking on the challenge to adapt to this new way of life and to new challenges it has presented, for our industry and the world as a whole, current demand of all goods have (been) rising in price and us at the Cigar industry have not been exempt, scarcity of tobacco is growing and so are prices of the most important element of our products, adding skyrocketing shipment prices and box prices we have to adapt and make some changes of our own.
