Black Star Line Cigars is the latest to announce that it will be increasing prices in the new year.

The company will be implementing an increase of 4 percent for all of the cigars in its portfolio. “I hate to raise the prices on our products, but we are living in inflationary times and I have to adjust prices based on what the materials used to make the cigars cost,” said Aric Bey, owner of Black Star Line Cigars, adding that he is seeing increases in the cost of boxes, tobacco, and shipping.

The increase will go into effect on Feb. 1, 2022, as Bey wants to give retailers attending the 2022 Tobacco Plus Expo in late January the opportunity to place orders at the company’s current prices.

The following chart is a live look at which companies have announced either a price increase or no price increase for 2022.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
