Black Star Line Cigars to Implement Price Increase as of Feb. 1
Black Star Line Cigars is the latest company to announce that it will be implementing a price increase as it aims to keep up with rising costs in the cigar-making process.
Effective Feb. 1, the company will raise the wholesale cost of the following cigars by 5 percent:
- War Witch Corona Box Press
- Mr. Fahrenheit Corona
- Rosewood 1923 Corona
- Lalibela Toro
- Lalibela Gordo
- Dark War Witch Perfecto
“The reason for the increase is we didn’t have an increase in the last couple years and we couldn’t keep taking the loss due to increasing price of tobacco,” Aric Bey, founder of Black Star Line Cigars told halfwheel. “We definitely didn’t want to but we most likely won’t increase for another two years.”
Cigar companies typically adjust their prices once per year, with most companies choosing to do so in the first quarter of the year. Below is a list of companies that have informed halfwheel whether or not they will have changes for Q1 2025.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together.
