Black Label Trading Co. Releases Event-Only Black Works Studio NBK Lizard King
A new event-only cigar will be showing up at Black Label Trading Co. functions, as today the company announced the release of the Black Works Studio NBK Lizard King.
The cigar is a 5 x 50 box-pressed robusto that uses Ecuadorian maduro and Ecuadorian rojiso leaves to create a barber-pole wrapper, while the binder is a Nicaraguan-grown habano leaf and the filler is from Nicaragua. James Brown, creator of Black Label Trading Co., calls the Lizard King an “amped up version of the original with more strength and spice.”
He added that the dual wrappers change the profile and add to the cigar’s complexity. The original NBK was announced in Dec. 2015 as part of Black Works Studio’s debut offerings. That cigar is a 6 x 46 box-pressed corona that uses an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler.
The NBK Lizard King sells for $10.50 per cigar and is offered in 20-count boxes. The company has not disclosed production numbers other than to say it is limited. As with previous event-only releases, it is expected that retailers will be the ones defining the parameters for how their customers will be able to buy the cigars, though Black Label Trading Co. has an event structure that they convey to the retailers during the scheduling process, and works with retailers on how to make the cigar available to customers.
The cigar is made at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua.
