Black Label Trading Co. has announced the hiring of Derek Matthews as the company’s national sales manager.

“We have been growing organically since we started in 2013 and are ready to take things to the next level,” said Stephanie Harris, the company’s managing partner, in a press release. “When we opened our own factory in 2015 our primary focus shifted to product development and operations in Nicaragua. Bringing Derek on board is going to help put the focus on maintaining our relationships with our cigar retailers and directing the growth for the future.”

Black Label Trading Co. and its sister brand Black Works Studio are both distributed by Boutiques Unified. Matthews will be responsible for working with that sales team, as well as other business strategies.

Update: This article originally stated that the company distributing Black Label Trading Co. was Boutiques United. It in fact is Boutiques Unified. The company recently changed its name from United to Unified.
