Black Label Trading Co. has a pair of cigars en route to retailers this week, the Deliverance Nocturne and the Deliverance Porcelain.

It’s the fourth release of the Deliverance Nocturne and returns using a Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper, Nicaraguan habano binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennysylvania. It’s being released in two sizes, a 5 x 56 Perfecto that comes in 20-count boxes, and the Short Salomon “Snub Nose,” a 4 3/4 x 40/56 figurado that comes in 18-count boxes. Both are priced at $10.50 per cigar, before taxes, with 500 boxes of each size produced.

New to the Deliverance line is Porcelain, which uses a Connecticut wrapper over a Nicaraguan habano binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. It is being released in a 5 1/2 x 48 corona gorda vitola, with cigars priced at $10 and packaged in 16-count boxes. The company has limited Deliverance Porcelain to 650 boxes in its initial production run.

Both cigars are made at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua.

In a press release, James Brown, creator of Black Label Trading Co. and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra, said that the Nocturne “highlights everything I love about Pennsylvania broadleaf,” noting the wrapper’s rich, complex and bold earthiness highlights the unique blend, while the use of a Connecticut wrapper on Porcelain gives the cigar a different profile from what might be expected, noting that the new line is “geared towards our consumers.”

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League.
