Big Sky Cigar, Co. is planning on adding two new regular production lines during the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show this year: Cryptid and El Profesor.

Cryptid is a 5 x 60 gordo made up of a Mexican San Andrés wrapper covering both a binder and filler tobaccos grown in Nicaragua. The cigar will have an MSRP of $12.40 and it will be packaged in 10-count boxes.

A Cryptid is defined as “an animal that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist” and in the case of this cigar, it refers to the Flathead Lake Monster, a creature that has had reported sightings in the Montana lake dating back to 1889.

In addition, Big Sky will be releasing El Profesor, a Nicaraguan puro highlighted by a habano wrapper that will be sold in only one vitola, a 4 3/4 x 44 short corona. That cigar will feature an MSRP of $7.32 each and will be packaged in 30-count boxes.

According to Brandon Marsh, vp of marketing and online sales at Big Sky Cigar, Co., both new lines are being rolled at the Tacasa S.A. factory in Nicaragua and are scheduled to be released during the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place July 9-12 in Las Vegas.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
