On Monday, the Bellingham City Council voted 6 to 1 in favor of a smoking ban that would cover all outdoor parks in the western Washington city.
The ban would include not only cigars and cigarettes, but also e-cigarettes. It will require one more vote before the proposed rule will become law, it’s unclear when that will take place.
Bellingham is the 13th largest city in the state with a population just over 80,000. It’s located in the western party of the state in Whatcom County, of which it is the seat.
