As of Jan. 1, 2015, smoking in restaurants in the Fort Worth suburb of Bedford will be no more. The Bedford City Council passed a smoking ban last week, prohibiting smoking inside and within 10 feet of a window or entrance of a restaurant.

For bars that generate at lest half of their revenue from alcohol, smoking will still be allowed. In addition, smoking on patios at restaurants remains legal.

Bedford is located less than ten miles southwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. It has a population just under 50,000.
