The AVO Maduro is back.
In 2018, as part of the AVO brand’s 30th anniversary, Davidoff of Geneva USA brought back the AVO Maduro in limited quantities. This April, the brand will return as a regular production offering.
It’s now known as the AVO Classic Maduro, instead of just AVO Maduro. The blend remains the same: a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican fillers, including 25-year-old tobacco as part of the filler.
The blend is actually the first blend that the late Avo Uvezian, the brand’s founder, developed. He did so with Hendrik “Henke” Kelner in the 1980s, before either was involved with Davidoff.
The AVO Classic Maduro will be offered in three sizes:
- AVO Maduro Robusto (5 x 50) — $9.80 (Box of 25, $245)
- AVO Maduro No. 2 (6 x 50) — $10.90 (Box of 25, $272.50)
- AVO Maduro No. 3 (7 1/2 x 50) — $11.40 (Box of 25, $285)
Not returning is the 7 x 52 AVO Maduro Piramides, which was offered in 2018.
