The AVO Classic Maduro is now shipping and should be in stores this Thursday.

This is not a new cigar, the AVO Maduro was discontinued in 2015. Now the blend returns under the name AVO Classic Maduro name as a regular production offering. It uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican fillers, including 25-year-old tobacco as part of the filler.

The AVO Classic Maduro will return in three sizes:

  • AVO Maduro Robusto (5 x 50) — $9.80 (Box of 25, $245)
  • AVO Maduro No. 2 (6 x 50) — $10.90 (Box of 25, $272.50)
  • AVO Maduro No. 3 (7 1/2 x 50) — $11.40  (Box of 25, $285)

This is actually the first blend that the late Avo Uvezian developed with Hedrik “Henke” Kelner when the two began working together in the 1980s, before either was involved with Davidoff.

The AVO Classic Maduro was previously brought back in 2018 on a limited basis as part of the brand’s 30th anniversary. The 2018 rerelease also included the Piramides (7 x 52) size, which is not returning for 2020.
