Over the next week, retailers will begin receiving samplers filled with rare cigars from Arturo Fuente, each packaged in a single, very large box.

The Tampa-based company is beginning to ship the La Gran Fumada The Impossible Collection 13 Vol. II sampler. As the name implies, this is the second sampler of this series to be released, though somewhat confusingly, there have been three different samplers released.

Originally, the samplers were created for an anniversary event hosted in June 2022 by the Arturo Fuente Cigar Club in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. A year later, Fuente decided to sell that same sampler to stores in the U.S. This sampler—Vol. II—was released at the 2023 version of the event, which took place last June. Arturo Fuente Cigar Club hosted a third La Gran Fumada in March, it featured Vol. III, which comes in a yellow box.

While some of the cigars are the same between Vol. I and Vol. II, others have changed. Each box of Vol. II includes one of the following:

  • Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Lancero
  • Fuente Fuente OpusX Oro Oscuro OxO Phantom
  • Fuente Fuente OpusX 20 Years Celebration Phantom
  • Fuente Fuente OpusX Double Corona Cigar Family Charitable Foundation Events Exclusive
  • Fuente Fuente OpusX 2020 Viento d’Amor
  • Fuente Fuente OpusX 25
  • Fuente Fuente OpusX Piramide 56 Especiale 2004 Aged Selection
  • Fuente Fuente OpusX Double Corona 2005 Aged Selection
  • Fuente Fuente OpusX PJ

  • Fuente Fuente OpusX BBMF Natural 2006 Selection
  • XIKAR Xi Cutter

Arturo Fuente has once again declined to list an MSRP for The Impossible Collection Vol. II but said that it is priced the same as Vol I. halfwheel has learned that using industry-standard margins, consumers should expect to pay $2,600 per box before applicable local taxes.

There are 500 samplers being released for the U.S. market. Arturo Fuente has started shipping the samplers to retail stores that are members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA). It will begin selling and shipping The Impossible Collection Vol. II to non-TAA stores on Monday, Dec. 2.
