There’s a new Shark in town.

Multiple retailers have taken delivery of the Don Carlos Private Reserve Eye of the Shark, a special release from Arturo Fuente in a special size. It’s a 5 3/4 x 52 version of the company’s popular Shark size, which normally measures 5 5/8 x 54. Like the Shark, it features a rounded torpedo cap and goes from a round top to a square bottom.

Don Carlos Aniversario 80th

It’s one of two cigars part of the 80th birthday celebration of Carlos Fuente Sr., which feature his personal blends, commonly known as Don Carlos Senior Blend. That blend has been released a few times before, but the blend itself changes from time to time. The other release is the Don Carlos Private Blend Robusto, which measures 5 1/4 x 50. The Eye of the Shark is offered in red boxes, while the Robusto is in black boxes.

Both feature a modified version of the Don Carlos band, as well as secondary Private Reserve band.

They were shown off at the 2015 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, but it appears that only the Eye of the Shark has arrived so far. The cigar has a suggested retail price of $11.25 per cigar and comes in boxes of 20.

This year marks Carlos Fuente Sr.’s 80th birthday and the 30th anniversary of the Don Carlos brand.
