Tonight, the Andover Board of Health will meet to discuss a variety of changes to the town’s tobacco laws, including raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco to 21. Andover would join a growing list of cities and towns in Massachusetts that have raised the age required to purchase tobacco beyond the state limit of 18.

In addition, the Board will also review restrictions to where tobacco products could be sold, including the limit of retail tobacco permits.

Andover is located in Essex County, roughly 20 miles north of Boston. It has a population over 30,000.
