Ambassador Fine Cigars in Phoenix, Ariz. has received the first shipment of the 20th anniversary cigar created by Davidoff in honor of the store’s milestone.
On Wednesday, Vartan Seferian posted pictures of the new cigar to social media, saying that a limited amount of the 3,000 cigars being produced have arrived.
Seferian isn’t disclosing the specifics of the blend yet, but says that he might at some point in the future. He calls it a medium-plus cigar that leans toward the fuller body end of the scale, adding that he would peg it at a “4 or 4.5 on Davidoff’s 5-point scale.” It comes in a single toro vitola measuring 6 x 52.
The store’s 20th anniversary officially happens next year, as Ambassador Fine Cigars opened on Aug. 11, 1997. But as Seferian noted, this is his 20th year in business, and with FDA regulations requiring new cigars to be made commercially available by Aug. 8, it was a fitting time to get them on the shelf.
The Davidoff Ambassador Fine Cigars 20th Anniversary sells for $30 per cigar, with 300 boxes of 10 cigars being produced. It is part of an ongoing series of releases that Davidoff of Geneva USA offers to appointed merchants celebrating milestone anniversaries, a program that started in October 2014.
