This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Trinidad brand and Altadis U.S.A. is celebrating with an entirely new concept for the brand.

Trinidad Espiritu is a Nicaraguan puro made by Abdel Fernández that is made to harken back to the late 1960s and early 1970s. Altadis U.S.A. will attempt to further this connection with a series of events to launch the cigar.

“This release will be an experience, as we will hold a nationwide tour of events, featuring vintage Latin Caribbean music, classic cocktails, domino tournaments and much more,” said Eddy Guerra, brand manager for Altadis U.S.A. “This will be an all-encompassing experience that will go hand in hand with a cigar we are so very proud of. Our kick-off event will be in Miami in June.”

For the music component, the company has created a Spotify playlist of classic Caribbean music designed to highlight the era.

As for the cigar, it’s offered in five vitolas.

  • Trinidad Espiritu Robusto (5 x 52)
  • Trinidad Espiritu Toro (6 x 52)
  • Trinidad Espiritu Magnum (6 x 60)
  • Trinidad Espiritu Belicoso (6 1/8 x 52)
  • Trinidad Espiritu Fundador (7 1/2 x 40)

The Fundador size will only be offered at events.

Altadis U.S.A. has not announced pricing for the cigars.
