Alex Goldman will now be the president of Quality Importers Trading Co., a promotion from his current role of chief operating officer, a title he will keep going forward.

As part of this new role, Goldman will be taking over “all day-to-day operations of the company as well as spearhead the implementation of the company’s longer-term initiatives,” according to the company. Michael Giordano will remain the company’s ceo and chairman.

Quality Importers Trading Co. is the parent company of a long list of cigar accessories brands including XIKAR, Cigar Caddy, DiPro, Humidor Supreme, Hyrda, Palió, Stinky and others. It also has a division called The Swag Bunker which customizes products for customers.

“This industry is all about relationships, and I look forward to growing relationships I have formed over the past 25+ years as well as building new ones as the President and COO of QI,” said Goldman in a press release. “Having sat in the chair that most of our customers currently occupy, I believe I bring a level of experience and understanding of the challenges our customers face on a daily basis, and look forward to helping them succeed in all of their planned endeavors.”

Goldman is a longtime industry veteran who worked at his family’s companies—House of Oxford and Mom’s Cigars—as well as Swisher International and Drew Estate. He joined Quality Importers last August.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
