In 2019, Alec Bradley released the Prensado Gran Belicoso, a 5 1/2 x 56 figurado that was limited to a production run of 15,000 cigars. Now the cigar will return in even more limited quantities for an event benefiting Operation: Cigars for Warriors.

On July 2, Ash Quarterly—a cigar magazine—will host an event at Executive Cigar Lounge in Sanford, Fla. featuring the Gran Belicoso. The event will include a fundraiser for Cigars for Warriors—a charity that sends cigars and other items to military units in combat zones—where customers can purchase the cigars and immediately donate them to Cigars for Warriors.

The Prensado Gran Belicoso uses the same blend as the rest of the Prensado line—a Honduran wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and fillers Honduras and Nicaragua that is made at Raíces Cubanas in Honduras—and this version will have an MSRP of $13.45 per cigar. It is limited to 2,200 cigars, of which 1,200 are designed to go to Cigars for Warriors.

“Cigars For Warriors is such an amazing charity that provides a moment of normalcy to our troops stationed in combat zones overseas,” said Jason Faulkenburg, founder of Ash Quarterly, in a press release from Alec Bradley. “We are honored to be able to help provide cigars to these men and women. We have donated one cigar for each Rating Club pack we sell since shortly after we launched in 2018, but we wanted to do something special this year. That’s when I approached Alec Bradley about creating something special for them and they didn’t hesitate to come on board. We couldn’t be happier with the blend they chose and how fantastic these cigars came out. We are even more excited to donate more than 50% of the cigars produced.”

The 2022 version will carry a red Ash Quarterly foot band.
