The annual limited edition from ADV & McKay Cigar Co. is coming back for a third release, with the company telling halfwheel that the ADVentura The Conqueror Emperor’s Edition will be back on shelves around the world in December.

The specifics of the cigar remain the same as the previous two editions, meaning it is a 7 x 40 lancero and uses the same base blend as the ADVentura The Conqueror line, which uses an Ecuadorian habano 2000 wrapper, Indonesian Sumatra binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. However, the filler gets modified by replacing all the ligero leaves with visos, which is the next priming down on a tobacco plant and generally offers a milder flavor intensity. Marcel Knobel, who co-founded ADV & McKay Cigar Co. with Henderson Ventura of Tabacalera William Ventura, says the change makes the blend very flavorful in the smaller size.

All of the tobaccos used in the The Conqueror Emperor’s Edition has been aged for seven years.

There will be more boxes produced than in years past, as Knobel said it is looking like approximately 600 boxes of 20 cigars will be available, with between 350 and 400 destined for the U.S. and the remainder slated for other markets. Pricing in the U.S. will remain the same as well, with individual cigars having an MSRP of $11.50.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
