Pinolero is back.

A.J. Fernández has begun offering a single size of the Pinolero as an event-only offering. The cigar features new packaging, in line with the rest of the company’s branding, and is being offered in three-packs. While the packaging is new, the size is not. It’s the 5 3/4 x 54 figurado vitola that was part of the regular production line.

Pinolero debuted in 2012, described at the time as the company’s strongest cigar. That cigar would end up going on to be described as the Pinolero Habano, a reference to the varietal of Nicaraguan wrapper. In 2014, the company added a Pinolero Maduro, once again a Nicaraguan puro though with a darker wrapper. By late 2016, multiple retailers told halfwheel the line had been discontinued.

A representative for the company didn’t comment on any further plans for the brand beyond the event-only three-packs.
