After initially saying that the company was not likely to be exhibiting at this summer’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Convention & Trade Show, A.J. Fernandez has confirmed to halfwheel that the company will in fact have a booth on the show floor.

“A.J. Fernandez Cigar Company is committed to manufacturing the best premium cigars in the world,” said Omar E. Fernandez, director of operations for the company, in a statement to halfwheel. “Our distribution relies on our relationships with the thousands of tobacconists across the country and those retail partners are our primary link to the consumers that enjoy our cigars. For over a decade, we have exhibited at the IPCPR (now PCA) because it is our industry’s trade show primarily for our retail partners. Our commitment has not changed. We will be exhibiting at the 2020 PCA trade show in Las Vegas, NV in booth 1025. We look forward to strengthening our existing relationships and creating new ones for many years to come.”

It will be smaller than in years past, measuring 20′ x 20′, a total of 400 square feet, but the company will be conducting business as usual with new and existing accounts. For reference, in 2019 the company occupied a booth measuring 50′ x 40′, a total of 2,000 square feet.

The 2020 PCA Convention & Trade Show runs from July 10-14 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
