Just when you thought Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. was done for the year, Ernie pulls out one more. It really is hard to imagine that less than a month after the Elencos Oscuro was announced there is another E.P. Carrillo product to reveal for 2011. Then again, this is Rick Gadway and Federal Cigar, and it is their anniversary. — el niño diablo.

For those not residing in New England, you might know of Gadway’s Federal Cigar because of the Tatuaje 109 (review here and here) from earlier in the year. The limited edition Tatuajes were made for Federal Cigar’s 90th Anniversary, but they weren’t the only ones. Fuente also released twenty-five boxes of specially marked Queen Bs, although the blend was unchanged. And now to close out the year, Gadway asked Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. and family to take the Short Run 2010 (2010, not a typo) and put it in the popular No.4, i.e. Corona, format. While this is the first single store release for E.P. Carrillo, this is far from the last.

In much the same manner as the 109, Gadway is offering two different versions of the E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2010 No.4, albeit packaging differences. For local in-store purchases, Gadway will have fifty (50) cabinets of fifty (50) cigars. Each SLB (sliding lid box) has 2011 Federal Cigar Cabinet Selections No.4 inscribed on the front.

Gadway is a stickler for tradition and explained that he is using traditional No.4 packaging (20 count boxes) for the phone and internet orders. There will be one-hundred and fifty (150) boxes of twenty (20), which will be offered to Gadway’s out of state customers. Despite the above picture, these are not coming in bundles.

Pre-orders start by phone (contact info below) and internet on November 1st and the cigars are expected to ship in December. Oh, and the price, $5.50 a cigar.
