Yesterday, Davidoff quietly stopped shipping the 787 and is now no longer taking orders. Edward Simon, brand manager of AVO, told me they will relaunch the cigars at the (IPCPR) show in July. The plan is as of now to keep the blend and as much of the rest of the cigar as they can the same, but Simon indicated that they felt the packaging needed to be more attractive for consumers. For those that are unaware, the 787 (7+8+7=22) is based of the famed AVO 22 blend, although they have their own unique tastes. As for the rest of the AVO, there’s a lot of “exciting” things coming, including the annual LE for Mr. Uvezian’s birthday in March, which Simon previously teased us with on Twitter.
