The Davidoff Art Edition returned in 2016, this time inspired by Jamaican artist Olivia McGilchrist. This time, McGilchrist in collaboration with the Davidoff Art Initiative created a video called “from many sides.” The 10-minute long video was then broken up into 7,000 still images, each of which graced one of the 7,000 boxes created for this release.
As with the original Art Edition, not only were the boxes adorned with specialized artwork, but the cigar got a secondary band featuring a part of the artwork to help set them apart. And like the original, the Art Edition 2016 comes in at seventh on the respective packaging awards.
