Davidoff’s limited edition releases tend to get some special treatment when it comes to packaging and is certainly no stranger to our packaging awards. While the previous Winston Churchill Limited Edition releases have all been impressive in their own right, this is the first year that a Winston Churchill release has made our top 10.
The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022 is of a cohesive theme that focuses on its namesake. The box is said to be fashioned after Winston Churchill’s briefcase, emblazoned with his initials and featuring two latches, much like you would expect to see on such accouterments. While a handle might have completed the look, it could have also taken the cigar box fashioned to look like a briefcase into the more gimmicky territory of a briefcase-shaped box that holds cigars.
Inside the box are 10 double perfecto cigars, a label indicating what box number it is, and a pouch in the lid containing a signed letter from Churchill’s great-grandson, Randolph Churchill. The letter reads:
My dear fellow Davidoff lover
This is a cigar to be truly relished in whatever company you find yourself in.
And whatever is being debated or disputed, the fine qualities of this Limited Edition created to celebrate the Statesman facette of Winston Churchill’s character are something everyone will be able to agree on.
Whether you might debate or dispute if this release deserves a spot on our list, it’s hard to deny that the Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022 is well-themed, looks good without being too gimmicky, and is one of the more interesting releases of the year. — Brian Burt.
