5. Montecristo Cincuenta

Altadis U.S.A. celebrated the 50th year anniversary of its factory, Tabacalera de García, with a special release: the Montecristo Cincuenta.

Offered in two sizes, the 6 x 50 toro is packaged in a very well-designed and attractive high gloss 10-count box, but that’s not what placed the Cincuenta fifth on our list. The other size, the Montecristo Cincuenta No. 2 is a 6 x 52 torpedo, each rolled by Lucrecia Valdez, and only sold in humidors made by Elie Bleu.

It’s no surprise that Elie Bleu created such a beautiful piece and with the high-gloss finish showing off the beautiful wood grain and inlaid design, it certainly belongs on the packaging awards list.

Only 75 humidors were made, each one coming with 100 cigars and retailing for $10,000. — Brian Burt.
