4. Espinosa Las 6 Provincias MTZ

There have been seemingly countless incorporations of Cuban themes into non-Cuban cigars, so it takes quite a bit for a new one to stand out. When Espinosa Premium Cigars launched its Las 6 Provinicias line last year it did that with a limited edition, swinging box design that celebrated La Habana. This year, it upped the ante with another limited release, Las 6 Provincias MTZ, celebrating Matanzas.

Taking inspiration from the homes in the area, the company created a 10-count box designed to look like a window, complete with shutters and a stained-glass window style design on top. It was created by Cuban artist Edin Gutierrez, who also did the artwork on the LHB release as well as Warzone, a project between Espinosa and General Cigar Co.

While it’s on the fragile side, it’s a beautiful creation that brings the backstory of the cigar into a tangible form and earns the right to be prominently displayed. — Patrick Lagreid.
