In its latest shipment to retailers, Viaje has included the cigar that started as brand owner Andre Farkas’ personal smoke before becoming an event-only and highly sought-after stick, the Viaje Exclusivo Corona Gorda.

Farkas posted to his personal Facebook page on Friday that the cigar would be shipping nationwide to Viaje retailers. In his post, he said that

Exclusivo started here. What began as a personal smoke was soon being passed around at events. Feedback was so strong it became our unofficial event only cigar. Other sizes of Exclusivo have been released, all based off of the original CG blend, but this is the first national release for the Corona Gorda. This is where it all began. I hope you enjoy.

The shipments of the Viaje Exclusivo Corona Gorda have started arriving at all authorized Viaje retailers, with several posting pictures of the cigars beginning on Friday and continuing throughout the weekend. MSRP for the cigar is $8.80, and a company spokesman was unable to confirm the exact quantity that have been produced at this time.

Also included in the shipment is the second installment of the Viaje Zombie Super Shot, a cigar that first appeared in May 2013 and will carry MSRPs of $7 per cigar and $175 per box of 25, as well as the Viaje Trifecta, a 30-count box of three different lanceros that has been in the works since 2011. Each box contains 30 lanceros split between three blends, 10 each of the existing Oro and Platino blends, and a new third blend called Plata, a new Nicaraguan puro that was rolled approximately six months ago at Casa Fernández Miami. There are 200 boxes of the Trifecta being produced, with an MSRP of $300 per box.

Viaje recently announced the retailers that will be getting the company’s regular Zombie release, which will come in two blends this year known as Green and Red. A new addition to the Zombie line called Antidote is also expected to be released in the near future.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
