Atlantic Cigar Co. will be getting a second release of the Viaje Exclusivo Lancero.

Originally sold to commemorate the Pennsylvania based retailer’s fifteenth anniversary in 2011, the first release was limited to just 150 boxes of 25.

The latest release of the Exclusivo remains a Nicaraguan puro and size as the original release at 7 1/2 x 40, but will be marginally more expensive at $9.60 each as opposed to $9.20. The release size has been reduce by a third—only 2,400 total cigars to be sold compared to 3,750 in 2011.

The cigar will have one physical change, it will feature a pigtail cap instead of the fan tail that was on the original release. That change is said to cost more, which helps to explain the difference in price.

Atlantic Cigar expects to begin selling the cigars next week, both in store and online.

Update: Added info about the cap change.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
