While the VegaFina brand might be a bit dormant brand in the U.S., its presence internationally is a bit different.
Tabacalera S.L.U.—part of the Imperial Brands, plc brand family—has launched numerous limited editions for the brand and the latest will come in May. It’s called the VegaFina Robusto Extra PigTail Añejado 7 Anos, as the name implies it includes tobacco that has been aged for seven years.
In the case, it’s the Ecuadorian habano wrapper that’s been aged for seven years. The cigar uses the same blend as the VegaFina Conde PigTail which launched last year. That cigar used an Indonesian binder and fillers from Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Robusto Extra PigTail Añejado 7 Años is a 6 x 50 toro whereas the Conde PigTail was a 5 1/2 x 48 size.
Pricing will be €5.50, around $5.92, per cigar in the Spanish market, where it will launch in May. The cigar will then debut in other markets, but it will not be offered in the U.S. market.
