There is another Undercrown line in the works.

In the last week, multiple sources have informed halfwheel they’ve spotted a new Drew Estate product: Undercrown Sun Grown.

According to one source, the new line is being offered in the same regular sizes as the original Undercrown line. The new line features a red color in contrast to the dark blue on the original Undercrown and the white on the Undercrown Shade.

Sam Morales, director of marketing at Drew Estate, said the company does not have any details on the product at this time.

It’s almost certain that the Undercrown Sungrown was sent to stores prior to Aug. 8, 2016. Like most companies, Drew Estate released a host of new products prior to Aug. 8 in order to meet new regulations enacted by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

In short, any product released prior to Aug. 8 would not have to seek pre-approval before entering the market. Any new cigar that debuted on Aug. 8 or later would have to wait for FDA approval—something that could take years—before the new item can be sold. As such, many companies released phantom brands, products released prior to Aug. 8 solely to meet the deadline, with the intention for the products to be formally released at a later date.
