For the past few weeks, Arby Sosa of Antillian Cigar Corporation has been teasing a new cigar, Macabi USA.

The name is not new, the company used to make a cigar under the Macabi name, but the blend is new. Macabi USA will be offered with two different wrappers: Ecuadorian habano and a barberpole known as Peppermint Stick with an Ecuadorian habano and Ecuadorian candela wrapper.

Inside is a binder from Honduras and filler tobaccos from Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. According to a press release, all tobacco is from the Oliva Tobacco Co.

While the Peppermint Stick will be limited to just a 5 x 50 size known as Royal Corona, the habano version will come in Belicoso Fino (6 1/2 x 52), Corona Extra (6 x 50), Double Corona (7 x 50), Lancero (7 1/2 x 38) and Royal Corona (5 x 50). Pricing will range between $7-8.50.

Sosa says the cigar will be produced entirely by one roller with production limited to 25,000 cigars per year.
