Due to an increase in the cost of wrapper, RoMa Craft Tobac will be increasing the price of its CroMagnon and Intemperance BA XXI lines.

“We’ve seen our US Connecticut Broadleaf costs increase about 40 percent since we began making the CroMagnon in 2011,” said Skip Martin. “Similarly, our costs for Arapiraca from Brazil has gone up pretty dramatically, almost 60 percent.”

The change will not affect all sizes within the lines and will range from no increase to 10 percent. Additionally, some of the company’s event sizes as well as one Intemperance EC XVIII size will have increased prices.

“We are simultaneously realizing a number of cost efficiencies in the supply chain, the new factory and on the logistics stateside that have offset most of the wrapper specific cost spikes,” said Martin.

The changes will be publicly detailed on February 1 while retailers will be told next week. Martin said this is the first time the company has raised prices in three years.
