Late last year, Rocky Patel Premium Cigars filed for a trademark on “HAMLET”—now the Hamlet cigar is taking shape.

It’s not made for some Shakespearean tragedy, rather, one of Cuba’s most sought after cigar rollers, Hamlet Jaime Paredes. Earlier this year, he came to the U.S. and has been working with Rocky Patel at the company’s BURN by Rocky Patel store in Naples, Fla. Paredes has been one of the more popular Cuban rollers in recent times after stints as the in-store roller at two factories in Cuba: Briones Montoto, the old Romeo y Julieta factory, and more recently the La Casa del Habano at the old Partagás factory.

Paredes’ notoriety was also helped by his travels. In 2000, he began traveling on behalf of Habanos S.A. to stores internationally to do in-store rolling demonstrations.

Emails sent to Rocky Patel Premium Cigars were not responded to, but a post from one of its sales representatives showed off the new cigars and indicated they would be available at this year’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show.

The cigar’s name is Tabaquero by Hamlet Paredes.

Update (June 24, 2015) — The original version of this story indicated that Paredes arrived in the U.S. in late 2014, it was 2015.
