Thompson Cigar Co. has a new exclusive cigar, though the cigar isn’t all that new.

It’s the Rocky Patel Platinum, a cigar that was introduced in 2013. While it has been offered as a nationally-released product for over three years, the cigar will now be sold exclusively through the Tampa-based retailer.

A representative from Thompson told halfwheel nothing about the cigar has changed, except the price. It will still be offered in three sizes: Robusto (5 1/2 x 50, $5.50), Toro (6 1/2 x 52, $5.75) and Torpedo (6 1/8 x 52, $6). The new pricing is a little more than half of what the cigars originally sold for: $10.30-11 depending on the size.

The Platinum is made at the Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A. (TAVICUSA) factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It uses an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan fillers.
