Last week, Rocky Patel introduced the largest version of its popular The Edge line to date, a 7 x 70 vitola known as Howitzer. It is offered in the Corojo and Maduro versions of the line and has begun shipping to retailers.

It’s the second time the company has expanded The Edge line this year. Earlier this year Rocky Patel released the 4 1/2 x 50 The Edge B52. Suggested retail price is still not known at this time, as the company is declining to talk specifics about the cigar until a formal press release is issued, which was originally slated to happen last Friday.

The Edge is made at Plasencia’s El Paraiso factory in Honduras. It has been offered in five different types of wrappers: Corojo, Maduro, Sumatra, Candela and Connecticut via The Edge Lite.

For those wondering if the Howitzer name looks familiar to the cigar market, it is. Quesada used over two years ago for its Q d’etat line.
