A new Edición Regional is being launched in Croatia this weekend, as the distributor Camelot celebrates its 25th anniversary with the Ramón Allones Terra Magica Edición Regional Adriatico.

The Terra Magica comes in a Double Edmundo vitola that measures 6 1/10 inches (155 mm) in length with a 50 ring gauge. This robusto extra is also found in the Montecristo line, used for the Double Edmundo that was launched in 2013.

It is priced at 20 Euros per cigar and comes in slide-lid boxes containing ten cigars, with 6,000 boxes produced.

It is being launched as part of Camelot’s Habanos Moments event series, which were established in 2011 as a way to bring cigar enthusiasts from the region together for a weekend of food, spirits and camaraderie around cigars. Following the weekend’s events in Zagreb and Istria, the cigar will be available throughout Croatia and Slovenia.

The name was chosen as it was what the ancient Romans called Istria, the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea, and which is shared by Croatia and Slovenia, as well as by Italy. Much like Cuba’s Pínar del Río region became known for its soil and ability to produce tobacco, Istria became known for being a region that produced grapes and wines, as well as fruit, olives, and olive oil.

This is the second Edicón Regional for the Adriatic region, joins the Vegas Robaina Marshal that was released in 2009, though it was originally destined to be a La Gloria Cubana release but changed after trademark issues arose with the use of the name in the region.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
