There’s always an extra box.

For the last year, Quesada has released its limited edition España Petit Belicoso in a similar fashion: every month one retailers receives a single cabinet of 100 cigars. The math seemed simple enough: 12 months, 12 boxes, 1,200 cigars.

Turns out, it’s 1,300.

There will be two boxes shipped out in December: one for Mickey Blake’s of Southington, Conn. and the other to Tobacco Plaza of Great Neck, N.Y.

Like so many other cigar companies, a small amount, i.e. box 13, was made in case anything happened to the other 12. This year nothing happened, meaning an extra retailer will get the box.

Quesada will continue the program of selecting a single retailer to receive an exclusive size of its España next year. It is expected to announce the first retailer later this month.
