March 3, 2014 (Orlando, Fla.) — Nomad Cigar Company is pleased to announce the release of the Connecticut Fuerte: Blended and rolled in the Dominican Republic.

Earlier in the year Fred Rewey, founder of Nomad Cigar Company, outlined his plans for the year, which included the release of a Connecticut cigar.

Created in the heart of the Dominican Republic, Nomad’s first Connecticut wrapped cigar successfully treads the fine line between traditional and progressive.

“The goal was to give traditional Connecticut smokers something a ‘bit more’ but not bury them in spice or strength. The other consideration was that I really wanted to create a cigar Nicaraguan fans would enjoy for their first smoke of the day. It was a very challenging endeavor. So far, the response has been very positive and I am pleased that so many people are taking to it” Said Rewey.

The Nomad Connecticut Fuerte cigar features the Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, an Ecuadorian Habano Binder, and Both Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. The cigars come in 20 count boxes and is available in four sizes.

  • Country of Origin: Dominican Republic
  • Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
  • Binder: Ecuadorian Habano
  • Filler: Dominican Republic & Nicaragua
  • Corona 5.5 x 44 – $158
  • Toro – 6 x 52 $170
  • Robusto Gordo 5.5 x 54 – $170
  • Robusto 5 × 50 – $158

Nomad has grown considerably in the last year with the 2013 release of the Nicaraguan S-307 and the Esteli Lot 1386.

The Nomad Fuerte is in stock and shipping to all retailers.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
