Add Plasencia to the list of companies making cigars for the Chinese zodiac calendar.

Next February, the Plasencia Year of the Ox will arrive in international markets. The 7 x 58 salomon is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco at the company’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

It has a suggested price of $35 per cigar, though it won’t be sold in the U.S. It is limited to 2,500 boxes of eight cigars.

As with other cigars made for the Chinese zodiac calendar, it uses red and gold prominently, two colors that have special meaning in Chinese culture. In addition, it packaged in boxes of eight, a lucky number in Chinese culture.

Davidoff, Great Wall and Habanos S.A. have announced Year of the Ox releases.
